Abbey Ford Flick

Abbey Ford Flick, Class of 1996 played field hockey, basketball, and softball during her career at Central Columbia. In field hockey she was a member of the 1995 Mid-Penn Conference championship team. She was a three-time Press Enterprise and Mid-Penn All Star. In basketball Abbey was a member of the 1994-1996 Mid-Penn Conference championship teams and 1995-1996 District IV championship team. She was a two-time Mid-Penn Conference All Star. Abbey holds the school record for single season and career records for most steals.

In softball Abbey was a member of the1993-1996 Mid-Penn Conference championship teams, the 1994 and 1995 PIAA AA District IV championship teams and the 1994 PIAA AA State championship team. She was a four-time Press Enterprise and Mid-Penn Conference All Star, three-time Mid-Penn Conference MVP, and two-time Reading Eagle Anthracite Offensive Player of the Year. During Abbey's senior year she was named Reading Eagle Anthracite Female Athlete of the year. She holds three season and six career records including most hits, doubles, home runs, and slugging percentage. Abbey is also a member of he District IV Softball Hall of Fame.

Abbey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bloomsburg University with a 4.0 in Elementary Education. She played softball one year, becoming the only player in Bloomsburg University history to hit for the cycle (in her first collegiate game). Abbey was named a National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar Athlete, and she was chosen to play against the 1996 US Olympic Softball team.
In 2003 Abbey obtained her Master's Degree from Bloomsburg University and is presently teaching for the Central Columbia School District. Abbey is married to Trent Flick (a 2009 Hall of Fame Inductee) and they have two daughters, Alyxandra and Jude and a son Crue. They currently live in Mt. Pleasant Township.

Brian Klingerman

Brian Klingerman, Class of 1992, played football, wrestled, and played baseball during his career at Central Columbia. In football Brian was a member of the 1989-1991 Central Susquehanna Conference championship teams and 1991 Eastern Conference South II-2 championship team. In 1990 & 1991 Brian was named First Team All State as a running back. Brian rushed for 4,085 yards at a 6.8 yards per carry average for his career. He also had 395 yards in receiving and scored a total of 54 touchdowns.

In wrestling he was a member of the 1992 Mid-Penn Conference championship team, which was also Co-champions of the Central Susquehanna Conference, and District IV East Central Sectional champions. Individually Brian was a two time District IV Sectional champion, District IV champion his senior year, two time Northeastern PA Regional runner-up, and finished sixth at states his senior year. Brian finished with a career record of 113-26-3.

In baseball Brain was a member of the 1989 & 1990 Columbia County League championship teams, the 1991 & 1992 Mid-Penn Conference championship teams, 1991 & 1992 District IV championship teams, and the 1991 PIAA State AA championship team. During Brian's career he hit .431, scored 106 runs, and had 76 stolen bases.

Brian graduated from Lehigh University. During Brian's career at Lehigh he played football for four years as a wide receiver. He was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the year in his junior year and he was named All-American two times. Brian works for JDK Management, and is married to the former Kathy Kline. They have three daughters, Hannah, Grace, and Ava and they currently live on Strawberry Hill Lane, Bloomsburg.

Mike Morucci

Mike Morucci, Class of 1976, played football during his career at Central Columbia. In football Mike became Central Columbia's first 1,000 yard rusher, rushing for 1,205 yards his senior year. Mike lead the Susquehanna Valley Conference in scoring with 120 points. He was named to the All Susquehanna Valley Conference First Team and named Conference Back of the Year. He also was named All Anthracite First Team, and Honorable Mention All-State as a running back.

Mike went on to play for Bloomsburg University, setting sixteen individual records. He was a four-time First Team, All-PSAC, named ECAC Player of the Year in 1979, along with being named a Little & Kodak All-American. That year he finished fifth in the nation in rushing. Mike finished his career with 3,535 yards.

He was drafted in the seventh round by the New Orleans Saints and was placed on injured reserve, was picked up by the Miami Dolphins and ended his career with a knee injury. Mike is currently employed by Geisinger Health Plan as Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. He and his wife Beth have two daughters, Nicole and Kayla. Mike currently lives in Sherwood Village.

Brett Sarnoski

Brett Sarnoski, Class of 1991 played football, basketball, and baseball during his career at Central Columbia. In football he was a member of the 1989-1991 Central Susquehanna Conference championship teams and 1991 Eastern Conference South II-2 championship team. In football during his senior year Brett was named Central Susquehanna Conference Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year and First Team All State Defensive Tackle.

In basketball Brett was a member of the 1990-1991 Central Susquehanna Conference and District IV championship team. He was a Central Susquehanna Conference All-Star his senior year. In baseball Brett was a member of the 1989 & 1990 Columbia County League championship teams, the 1991 Mid-Penn Conference championship team, 1991 District IV championship team, and the 1991 PIAA State AA championship team. In baseball Brett was named to the 1990 & 1991 Mid-Penn All-Star First Team. During Brett's career he hit .338, scored 63 runs, and had 54 RBI's.

Brett attended Bloomsburg University for two years and then graduated from Shippensburg University with a BS and Masters Degree in Special Education. He played four years of baseball while in college. Brett is a teacher for the Central Columbia School District. He is married to the former Kristen Kurpis. They have three children, Ryan, Alex, and Anna. They currently live in Mt. Pleasant Township.

1986 Wrestling Team

The 1985-1986 wrestling team, coached by Todd Cumming and assisted by the late Bob Rohm, won the PIAA AA State Championship behind Rob Meldrum who won the Heavyweight State Championship, Jeff Giovino who finished 3rd at 167 lbs., Ty Williams who finished 6th at 185 lbs., and state qualifier Nate Barto at 98 lbs.. Along the way the team also won the District IV AA Championship.

Members of the team were Nate Barto, Travis Oberrender, Daryle Smith, Joel Barto, Jeff DelNero, Mark Shaffer, Chris Ackerman, Jim Smith, Dave Gittleson, Steve Campbell, Eric Witmer, Steve Savage, Rob Woodley, Mark Kile, Damon Beaver, Scott Huntington, Todd Hons, Jeff Giovino, Bob Kocher, Ty Williams, and Rob Meldrum.

1987 Wrestling Team

The 1986-1987 wrestling team, coached by Todd Cummings and assisted by the late Bob Rohm, won the PIAA AA State Championship for a second year in a row behind Rob Meldrum, who won a second Heavyweight State Championship, Ty Williams placed 2nd at 185 lbs. and Nate Barto placed 3rd at 98 lbs.

Team members included Chris Ackerman, Joel Barto, Mark Shaffer, Brady Taylor, Nathan Barto, Doug Bower, Rob Woodley, Dan Shaffer, Matt Revok, Paul Ferro, Barry Davis, Scott Huntington, Chris O'Nell, Matt Martenas, Eric Whitmer, Kurt Karshner, Rob Meldrum, Ty Williams, Bob Kocher, Damon Beaver, Todd Hons, and Shawn Collins. Managers of the team were Celestia Revak, Mari Wheeler and Kristin Lurowist.
