Tony DaRe Sr

Tony DaRe Sr

Tony DaRe was Central Columbia High School's J.V. and Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach for 9 years, Central Columbia High School's Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for 18 years, and Bloomsburg University Men's Basketball Assistant for 3 years. While head coach, he won 2 District IV AA Titles and 2 Central Susquehanna Conference Titles. Tony has 252 career wins, 11 District IV AA qualifiers, 5 PIAA AA Tournament qualifiers, 4 twenty win seasons, 4 District IV AA final appearances, 4 All-State players, and 3 1,000 point scorers. He was named Central Susquehanna Conference Coach of the Year in 1991 and 2003, as well as, Press Enterprise Coach of the Year. Tony is a 1974 graduate of Bloomsburg State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. He continued his post graduate work at Bloomsburg University, Penn State University, and Wilkes University. Tony was a Social Studies teacher at Central Columbia High School for 34 years and retired in June 2009. Currently, Tony is married to his wife Chris and they have two sons Tony and Michael.

Kristin Johnson

Kristin Johnson

Kristin Johnson, Class of 2000, was a three sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and softball. Kristin was a member of the 1998 District IV Championship Soccer Team, 1997 and 2000 District IV Basketball Championship Teams, and 2000 undefeated Mid-Penn Championship Softball Team. In soccer, from 1996-1999 Kristin was named 1st Team Press Enterprise, 1st Team Susquehanna Valley Conference, and was a 1999 PSCA All-State Team selection. In 1999 and 2000, Kristin was also named 1st Team All Mid-Penn and was a Press Enterprise All-Star for basketball. During her basketball career at CCHS she lead the team in 2 point FG% in a single season, Total FG% in a single season, and was an 1,000 point scorer who ended her career with 1,033 points. In softball, Kristin lead the team in triples, RBI's, runs scored, and on base % in 2000. She was also named as a Press Enterprise All-Star and 1st Team All Mid-Penn in 2000. After graduating from Central Columbia High School, she attended Bloomsburg University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and was a member of the women's BU Soccer Team. Currently, Kristin is a learning support teacher at Mary S. Shoemaker Elementary School in Woodstown, NJ and is married to Bruce Schlichter. They have two children, Landon and Abigail.

Eric Novak

Eric Novak

Eric Novak, Class of 1991, was a two sport athlete, playing basketball and baseball. Eric was a member of the 1991 Central Susquehanna Conference Championship and District IV AA Championship Basketball Team. In basketball, Eric was named 1st Team Press Enterprise, 1st Team Central Susquehanna Conference and Player of the Year, and was a 4th Team All-State selection in 1991. Eric was a 1,000 point scorer and ended his career with 1,088 points. In baseball, Eric was a member of the 1991 undefeated Mid-Penn League Championship Team, District IV AA Championship Team, and AA State Championship Team. He was named to the 1st Team Columbia County League and Mid-Penn League All-Star Teams in 1990 and 1991. After graduating from Central Columbia High School, he attended Bloomsburg University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education- Comprehensive Social Studies. He also received a Master's of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University. Currently, Eric is a Social Studies teacher at Millville Area School District.

Osayi Osunde

Osayi Osunde

Osayi Osunde, Class of 2005, was a three sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and track & field. Osayi led the football team in rushing, scoring and QB pressures, 2nd on the team in tackles for loss and sacks, 3rd in tackles. He was named 1st team Central Susquehanna Conference Defensive End, 2nd team Central Susquehanna Conference Full Back, and 1st Team Press Enterprise All-Star. Osayi was a Super 16 Dream Team member, East/West participant, and Big 33 participant. In 2004, he was an All State defensive specialist. In track & field, Osayi was a multiple time District IV Champion and medal winner in the javelin, shot put, and discus. He was also a two time State Javelin winner and state javelin record holder as well as a five time State Medal Winner. Osayi was USA Today's All American in 2005 and Nike Outdoor All American. In 2005, he was the Press Enterprise Male Athlete of the Year. After graduating from Central Columbia High School, Osayi attended Villanova and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Sciences and a Master's Degree in Human Resource Development. He was a member and captain of the football team and helped lead the Wildcats to their first NCAA Division I-AA Football National Championship in 2009. He received many honors throughout his football career at Villanova some including; three-time All-CAA Football selection, two-time Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Star Performer of the Year, second team All-CAA Football selection at linebacker, and CAA Football Student-Athlete of the Year. Currently, Osayi is a sales manager at Muscle Gauge Nutrition.

Greg Remaly

Greg Remaly

Greg Remaly, Class of 1999, was a two sport athlete, participating in cross country and track & field. In cross country, Greg was the 1997 and 1998 course record holder. He finished 2nd at Districts and 8th at the state meet for Cross Country. In track & field, Greg finished 2nd at Districts and placed 6th at state meet in the 1600 meter run. After graduating from Central Columbia High School, he attended Kenyon College and holds the record in Cross Country with 24:53 for 8K. Greg was also a NCAA Nationals Individual qualifier. Greg is a 2003 honor graduate from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

1991 Softball Team

1991 Softball Team

The 1991 senior class won four straight league titles (three of them undefeated), two District IV AA titles and had a combined record of 85 wins and only 9 losses. In 1991, Central ended the Mid-Penn League and added to the string of five consecutive Columbia County League titles with a third straight undefeated league record. The team also defeated all non-league opponents, including several AAA State powers in the annual State College Invitational Tournament before capturing the District IV AA Title.

During the 1991 season, the league and district champions posted the second best overall record of any team in any sport at Central competing in a team playoff format with 24 straight wins and only one loss. Only the 28-0 1994 State Championship Softball Team had a better winning %. The 1991 team was clearly one of the most dominant ever- outscoring opponents nearly 10-1 (418-42).

The team still holds single season Central records for: total at bats (934), triples (23), runs scored (418); total times on base (616), on base % (.660), sacrifices (50) and most 10 run rule games (17).
