Jen Baney

Jen Baney

Jen Baney graduated from Central Columbia High School in 2000. She participated in track and field for four years. In 1999, she placed first in the 200 meter dash at the Coaches Invitational and was the District IV champion in the 100 and 200 meter dash. During the same year, she set a school record in the 100, 12.6 seconds and in the 200, 26 seconds. In addition, she was undefeated in the 200 at every dual meet and was voted first team in the Susquehanna Valley League and in the Press Enterprise for sprint events. During her senior year, she was the champion of the Mount Carmel Invite in the 100 and at districts in the 100 and 200. She placed 7th in the 100 and 8thin the 200 at the state meet and once again was undefeated during the regular season's dual meets.

Jen decided to continue her education after high school at Kutztown University where she was a part of the track team. In 2001, she was a part of the 4x100 that broke the university's record. In 2003, she was named the team's captain and set another record in the 4x200 meter relay at Penn Relays which still stands today. In 2004, the team won the PSAC Indoor Championship and she was inducted into the TAU Kappa Sorority for Elite Female Athletes. Jen was a four time conference place winner in the 200 and 4x100 meter relay as well as a Scholar Athlete three out of the four years at Kutztown. After college, she became the Area Director for the Albany Region for Learning Care Group and was awarded the Mentor Director Award and a Diamond Director Candidate. Jen later married Ryan Cameron and they have two daughters, Madelyn and Vivian.

Pam Hunt

Pam Hunt

Pam Hunt, a 1990 graduate of Central Columbia High School, participated in Cross Country and Track and Field for four years. During her senior year, Pam set records on every cross country course she ran her senior year. Pam also placed 4th at the state meet her senior year and 2nd at districts her junior and senior years. Pam attended Cornell University with a degree in Biology.

Nate Johnson

Nate Johnson

A 2007 Central Columbia graduate, Nate Johnson excelled as a three sport athlete. He participated in football, wrestling and baseball every year at Central Columbia. In wrestling Nate was a 4 time sectional champ, 3 time district champ, 2 time North East Region Champ and a 3 time PIAA state place winner. He has the school record with 74 pins and his individual record was 124 wins and 17 loses over the course of four years. Nate was named to the PWCA Academic All-State Team, All-State Team, Press Enterprise 1st Team Award, All-CSC League Wrestler of the Year, Press EnterpriseWinter Sports MVP, District IV 1st team award, team captain in 2007, and District IV Male Athlete of the Year Award.

In Baseball, the team won the District IV Championship in 2007. For football, Nate was named to the All-CSC 1st team linebacker/running back, District IV 2nd team fullback, Press Enterprise All-Star game participant and team captain.

After high school, Nate attended Bloomsburg University where he graduated with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. Nate was on the Dean’s list 7 times. He then came back to Central Columbia and became a Special Education Teacher in 2012. He coaches football, wrestling and track and field.

Nate is the son of two Central Columbia grads, Joann and Bob Johnson. He has three siblings, Jeremiah, Jillian and Trisha Johnson and is married to Emily Young.

Nate Klingerman

Nate Klingerman

Nate Klingerman, a 1997 graduate of Central Columbia High School, participated in baseball and football. Nate's sophomore year the football team won the District IV title and two years later Nate was named a 3rd team All- State Quarter Back. In addition to a title in football, Nate was a part of the league championship team for baseball in 1997 and named the Mid-Penn League MVP twice. After high school, Nate continued his education at Bloomsburg University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. During his time at Bloomsburg University, he was a part of the baseball team for two seasons where he played as a utility infielder, relief and starting pitcher. Lauren Ruckle

Lauren Ruckle

Lauren Ruckle graduated in 1998 and was very involved in her years at Central Columbia High School. Lauren was a three sport athlete all four years, participating in field hockey, basketball and softball. In 1995, 97 and 98 the basketball team won the league championship. In 1996, the team was the District IV AA champions and in 1997 the AAA champions. Ruckle was a Mid-Penn Honorable Mention in 1997 and a Second Team All-Star in 1998.

Lauren was also a part of the league champion softball team in 1995, 96 and 98 and the District IV champions in 1995 and 97. The softball team’s cumulative record for all four years was 83-16. Lauren was a Mid-Penn Honorable Mention in 1997 and named the First Team Mid-Penn catcher in 1998. After graduation, Lauren went on to the Academy of Hair Design and then became the Co-owner/operator of Locks of Style in 2001. She is married to Brent Traugh and has two children; Logan and Ryan.

1992 Wrestling Team

The 1991/92 Wrestling Team holds Central Columbia's best dual meet record of 18-2 as well as set new school records when five individuals became sectional champions, ten qualified for districts, and five qualified for the regional and state matches. This team placed second overall at the district match and fourth overall at the regional match along with many first place overall finishes during the Mid- Penn League Invitational, Blue Jay Invitational, Columbia County and Sectional Tournaments.

1993 Wrestling Team

The 1992/93 Wrestling Team tied the prior years' record, 18-2 and became the champions of the Mid-Penn Invitational, Central Susquehanna Conference and Sectional match. Ten athletes from this team competed at the District match, three becoming district champs. Three individuals then went on to become regional champions qualifying for the state match. At states, Central Columbia's Stu Hartman placed fifth in his weight class, bringing home a state medal.
